Making A Change: My New Journey With Fitness

How do you go from going through the motions of life and just being, to paving your own path and truly living?

Well, I have to be honest, it may be different for everyone, but for me, it was wanting to make a change in my health.

I saw a photo of myself where my face looked round, I was constantly tired, and I had zero motivation to go after the things I love.

I know that just 6 months ago I was talking about how happy I was and that I was excited for a new journey in life after shooting my first commercial, but things change quickly and you realize you weren’t really happy with where you were at the time.

So fast forward to summer and I’ve begun something new! I saw how happy some of my friends were who had taken control of their health and started to really dive into fitness. Their moods changed, they were obviously fitter, but they were more motivated to go after their goals.

Obviously wanting to truly feel fulfilled, I decided to join that journey.

I became a Beachbody coach. (Cue eyerolls from personal trainers and gym rats.)

Look, I know Beachbody isn’t for everyone, and as a matter of fact, 4 years ago when I did Insanity, it wasn’t for me either, but things change and life changes too.

I now workout and try and improve my health for myself but occasionally will post about it on social media in hopes to inspire other people to join me as I begin this new journey.

It’s really simple too, you just do the programs as they’re designed and the results you get are based off of what effort you put into it. Again, I’ve already done Insanity so I know these programs really work.

I know that some people say, “It’s a scam” and my favorite, “why can’t you just go to a gym?”

Well, I’ll answer those questions.

First of all, looking at it as a scam is like looking at Starbucks the same way. Minimal coffee hidden in milk with ridiculous amounts of sugar and pretending it does wonders for your energy levels all while calling it “coffee.” THAT is a scam.

Yes, I can go to a regular gym, and in fact, I still do! I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted at the gym and I realized I could easily do these workouts in my home when I don’t feel like leaving, not to mention they all come with meal plans designed to compliment the workouts. So how can I honestly fail?

You see, Beachbody is like having a personal trainer AND a nutritionist all in one. All you have to do is press play and eat the food. Simple as that.

Now, this all doesn’t mean I wont have a doughnut or some cake on my birthday. You better believe my sweet tooth isn’t going anywhere, but I can learn to control how much I allow myself to indulge in.

I am no fitness expert. I will never be a fitness expert. But I am a regular guy who wants to ensure his health is in the best possible shape it can be.
