Acting Update: May 2017

Well, here’s an update on that feature film I’m starring in!

Kidding. I’m far from that. Or am I?

Since my last update like, 4 months ago, I booked a commercial andΒ auditioned for a plethora ofΒ other gigs, one being a national spokesman for a major cable brand.

Now, in acting, you’ll audition for 99 things and probably only book 1 or 2. It’s just how it goes, until you’re Chris Pratt level and then people call you to be in their commercials and films.

So, while I’m a little bummed my career isn’t taking off faster, I’m genuinely proud of what I’ve accomplished in the past year.

Taking a look back, I realized I wanted to get back into acting, I submitted to agencies, signed with a talent agency, and booked my first commercial while building the confidence I needed to last in this tough industry.

You see, the entertainment industry is mostly rejection and people judging youΒ based off things that you can’t control like your eye color and face shape.

So while I haven’t booked a recurring role on The Big Bang Theory or even a small 1 liner in a feature film, I’m proud of where I am. I’ll eventually land a bigger role and then a bigger one, and so on, but for now, I’m happy with what I’ve done over the past few months.

It’s such a nice feeling to be able to say that and actually mean it. I try to be brutally honest with myself on this site so that I’m held accountable for what I have done.

So here’s to bigger and better things, and hopefully my first movie role!

Oh, here’s that commercial I booked. πŸ™‚
